As a member of the UIA (International Union of Architects) – Architecture and Children Work Program, we undertake this mission to raise awareness about built environment education (BEE). In 2020 we launched a new series of interviews with the members of the Work Program, to better understand how our international colleagues implement BEE activities, what is their vision and approach in their specific set of circumstances and what we can learn from it. We are happy to continue our journey with our colleague Carolina Pizarro from Costa Rica.

The UIA Charter for Built Environment Education for Children and Young People
The Charter forms the basis for dedicated actions by architects and educators engaged in providing environment education to children and young people around the world. This has at its source the awareness of the responsibility that we, as professionals, carry and owe to these future participants in the creation of the built environment that we share.
